We Sell One Thing — Access

No fluff. No vague promises. Here is exactly what Find My Observership provides — and what we don't.

✓ What You Get
🏥
A Confirmed Observership Placement
4 weeks shadowing a licensed U.S. physician in Family Medicine at a verified NY or NJ clinical site.
📋
Program Confirmation Letter
Official documentation of your placement for your records, CV, and residency applications.
✈️
Visa Invitation Letter (if needed)
An official visa invitation letter from the host program to support your B-1/B-2 visa application. Separate fee. Non-refundable once issued.
🤝
LOR Opportunity
Your placement is structured to give you the best possible environment to earn a U.S. letter of recommendation based on your performance.
✗ What We Don't Sell
A Guaranteed LOR
Letters of recommendation are earned, not bought. They are issued solely at the physician's discretion based on your attitude and performance.
Visa Approval
We provide the invitation letter. Visa decisions are made entirely by the U.S. embassy or consulate. We are not immigration attorneys.
Residency Match Placement
We give you the experience and tools to strengthen your application. The Match itself is between you and residency programs.
Refunds on Visa Letters
Once a visa invitation letter has been issued, the fee is non-refundable regardless of visa outcome or change of plans.
The bottom line: For $1,000 you get a confirmed 4-week Family Medicine observership in NY or NJ. A 25% deposit ($250) secures your spot upon acceptance. The remaining 75% ($750) is due one week before your start date. That's it. That's everything.

Observership vs. Externship vs. Clerkship

These terms get used interchangeably — but they're not the same. Understanding the difference helps you make the right choice for your stage and goals.

What We Offer
Observership
What you do
Shadow a licensed U.S. physician. Observe patient visits, rounds, and procedures. You watch and learn — you do not touch patients or practice medicine.
Who it's for
IMGs who need U.S. clinical exposure and a path to a U.S. LOR. No USMLE scores required to start.
License required?
No U.S. license required
Hands-on patient care?
No — observation only
Best for Match?
✅ Yes — especially for U.S. LOR and networking
Externship
What you do
A more hands-on experience than an observership — you may assist in procedures, document notes, or work more directly under supervision. Level of involvement varies by program.
Who it's for
IMGs who have already completed some USMLE steps and want more active clinical exposure, or students in certain allied health programs.
License required?
Sometimes — depends on program
Hands-on patient care?
Varies — limited to supervised tasks
Best for Match?
⚠️ Good, but harder to access as an IMG
Clerkship
What you do
Full clinical rotations as part of a medical school curriculum. You see patients, write orders, and function as a supervised student physician. Graded and evaluated.
Who it's for
Medical students enrolled in a U.S. or Caribbean medical school. Typically not available to independent IMGs outside of formal school enrollment.
License required?
Must be enrolled in medical school
Hands-on patient care?
Yes — full supervised patient care
Best for Match?
✅ Very strong — but requires school enrollment
As an IMG, an observership is your most accessible first step.
No U.S. license needed. No school enrollment required. Just you, a U.S. physician, and 4 weeks that can change the trajectory of your career.

How It Works

We've simplified the process so you can focus on what matters — showing up and making the most of your experience.

01

Submit Your Application

Fill out our short application form with your background, specialty interest, and preferred dates. No lengthy paperwork — we keep it simple.

02

We Review Your Application

Our team carefully reviews every application to ensure we can place you in a program that matches your specialty, timeline, and goals. Not every application is accepted — we only confirm placements we can fully support.

03

Acceptance & 25% Deposit

If your application is accepted, you'll receive a formal acceptance with your program details. To secure your spot, a non-refundable 25% deposit ($250) is due at this stage. If you also need a visa invitation letter, that fee is collected here as well.

04

Final Payment — 1 Week Before Start

The remaining 75% balance ($750) is due one week prior to your start date. Once your final payment is received, you're fully confirmed and ready to begin.

05

Complete Your Observership

Attend your program, build relationships with U.S. physicians, and gain the clinical experience that strengthens your residency application.

06

Request Your LOR

After completing your observership, you may request a letter of recommendation from your supervising physician based on your performance and professionalism throughout the program.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a U.S. observership?
A U.S. observership is a structured program where you shadow a licensed American physician in a clinical setting. You observe patient interactions, rounds, and procedures — gaining real exposure to the U.S. healthcare system without practicing medicine yourself. It's one of the most valuable experiences an IMG can have before applying for residency.
Do I need a visa to do an observership?
It depends on your country of origin and immigration status. Many IMGs can enter the U.S. on a B-1/B-2 visitor visa for observerships. We can provide an official visa invitation letter from the host program to support your visa application. Note: we are not immigration attorneys and cannot guarantee visa approval.
Why is the visa invitation letter fee non-refundable?
The visa invitation letter is an official document issued by a U.S. institution on your behalf. Once issued, costs are incurred on the institution's side regardless of whether your visa is approved or your plans change. For this reason, the fee is non-refundable once the letter has been issued.
Is a letter of recommendation guaranteed?
No. While our placements are structured to maximize your chances of receiving a strong LOR, letters of recommendation are issued at the discretion of your supervising physician based on your performance, professionalism, and engagement during your observership. We do not guarantee letters.
What specialties are available?
Availability varies by program and season. Common specialties include internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, family medicine, and more. Contact us or submit an application to inquire about current availability in your specialty of interest.
How long are the observership programs?
Program lengths vary, typically ranging from 2 weeks to 3 months. Longer placements generally give you more time to build meaningful relationships with physicians and increase your chances of a strong LOR. We'll discuss options during the matching process.
Is Find My Observership legitimate?
Absolutely. We understand that trust is everything — especially in a space where scams exist. We work only with verified U.S. programs and are fully transparent about our fees, process, and what we can and cannot guarantee. We encourage you to ask us anything and to do your own due diligence.
